The relationship between implants and oral hygiene. Oral hygiene and implant There is of course a relationship between the treatment and implants. Because implants are not teeth, teeth are doomed to be lost within a certain period of time as a result of poor oral hygiene.
Likewise, if oral hygiene is poor, the gums around the implants may become inflamed. Again, due to this poor hygiene, the bone tissue around the implants may be damaged from time to time and bone edges may melt, inflammatory conditions may occur. If these are diagnosed at an early stage, intervention is made in these areas and their treatment is possible.
However, if it is too late for treatment, sometimes in advanced cases implant may cause loss.
