Get Detailed Information
Implants used in single-tooth implant treatment provide a structure and foundation for your artificial tooth. If there is enough bone in the area where the tooth is lost, an implant can be used for all tooth losses. If there is not enough bone in the area where the tooth is lost, the necessary bone tissue can be created in that area with modern methods and then the implant can be applied. In the case of single tooth loss, an implant is placed in your jaw and a crown is placed on it. In this way, your treatment is carried out without damaging the teeth next to the lost tooth.
Single-tooth implants are used in people who are missing one or more teeth. The implant is surgically placed into a space opened in the jawbone by the dentist. Once the implant connects to the bone, it acts as the root for the crown prosthesis that will replace your missing tooth.
For this procedure to work, there must be sufficient and strong bone tissue in the jawbone to hold and support the implant. If there is not enough bone, bone graft placement is done to add bone tissue to the area and strengthen the supporting bone.
In the traditional method of treating missing teeth, adjacent teeth were abraded and bridge prostheses were applied. However, with implant applications, your treatment is carried out without touching your adjacent teeth.

Single Tooth Implant Treatment
Implants are revolutionary in the treatment of tooth loss in dentistry. Today, implant treatment, which is considered the closest application to real teeth, is a painless and simple procedure. The implant, which consists of a titanium apparatus placed on the tooth root, can be easily placed in the jawbone without stitches. Even if the tooth is newly lost, placing an implant directly instead of the tooth root is a much easier treatment method.
Implant and prosthesis dentist Prof. Dr. Ömer Kutay has been treating implant patients at his clinic called Implant Center in Nişantaşı, Istanbul for over thirty years. Ömer Kutay, who provides implant treatment services to both domestic and international patients, is one of the top names that comes to mind when it comes to implants.
Ömer Kutay, who has carried out successful studies in the field of implants, has performed implant treatments on countless patients and continues to do so. Prof. Dr. Ömer Kutay, who provides implant treatment services for the rehabilitation of both single teeth and all teeth, has a 99 percent success rate in his operations.
How is a dental implant done?
Implants can generally be applied in four different ways. In the first method, the relevant tooth is extracted and the implant is placed in the resulting space in the same session. This is the most comfortable and practical method for the patient and the doctor. It does not require stitches or surgical intervention and is almost painless. The second method is the method called the closed technique. In this method, a laser is used without opening the flap (without cutting the patient's tissue where the implant will be applied) and a cavity is created. The implant is placed in this cavity.
It is a comfortable, painless, single-stage procedure that takes a very short time. The third method involves mini implants. In this method, implants are applied directly through the mucosa.
The fourth method is the most well-known classical surgical method among the public. With surgery, a suitable space is opened in the person's jawbone, the implant is placed there and the stitches are removed approximately one week later. In this method, if the person's bone density is low, an additional procedure called bone grafting is performed before the implant is placed.
Single tooth implant treatment details
Single tooth loss can occur for many reasons: Trauma history, tooth decay, loss of bone support due to gum disease. If the single tooth loss is in an area that is visible when the patient smiles or talks, this situation causes the patient to encounter many negativities in their social life and lose self-confidence. Therefore, treating single tooth loss becomes even more important.
The best method for single tooth loss is to place a single tooth implant. In the past, single tooth loss was treated with bridges or removable dentures, but today, with the development of implant treatment, the best way to treat this loss is with implants. First, a titanium screw is placed into the bone and the bone is expected to fuse with this screw, which we call osteointegration, and after this process, a crown made of zirconium or metal porcelain is placed on it. During this period, a temporary prosthetic tooth is placed so that the patient can continue their daily life and normal life.
So what are the advantages of a single tooth implant?
In traditional methods, neighboring teeth are prepared and reduced in size to obtain support from these teeth. However, if an implant is made, the other teeth are not touched and only the relevant tooth location is intervened.
After tooth loss, bone loss begins in the jawbone due to toothlessness, but if an implant is placed in the jawbone, this loss is prevented by restoring function.
Your new prosthetic tooth will be just like your natural tooth and will function like a natural tooth in terms of chewing and aesthetic appearance.
