The alignment of teeth is largely dependent on the gums surrounding them. This can be overlooked, especially if extensive surgery is required to correct them. This is one of the main reasons why we use it to change gum levels in addition to many of our cosmetic treatments on teeth. Lasers provide two main advantages; they can help us adjust the gums without using injections for minor adjustments, and they can help us avoid major surgery in most cases.
Avoiding surgery will reduce or eliminate discomfort after treatment and reduce the time required for gum restoration and gum advancement.
Another interesting application with the laser is that we can “whiten” the gums. Physiologically or because the gums have a dark color locally or in a large area due to smoking, we can remove the dark color without any injections. In this way, the patient will have gums with the desired aesthetic healthy pinkness.
