Implants are artificial tooth roots, usually made of titanium, placed in the jawbone to provide function and aesthetics for missing teeth.
Implant dental treatment is the best alternative that provides the function and aesthetics of natural teeth. Stopping the loss of the jaw bone, which is one of the important problems that arise with tooth loss, can only be achieved with implants today.
Implant Treatment Process
How does the implant dental treatment process work? An implant is a prosthetic element made of titanium that is placed in the jawbone and acts as a tooth root. Although the implant operation is a procedure that scares most patients, the reason for this fear stems from not knowing how the procedure is performed.
Today, implant treatments can be performed without blood or stitches. Implant and prosthesis specialist Prof. Dr. Ömer Kutay has been performing successful operations in this field for over 30 years.
Today, Ömer Kutay, whose reputation is also known abroad, is doing successful work in the field of implants. The videos prepared by our clinic on implant construction will also help you to understand that the treatment process is painless.
How is dental implant made?
Although dental implants generally seem like a scary procedure for our patients, in experienced hands, patients do not feel any pain. Implant applications are performed in 4 different techniques, and your doctor chooses the technique that suits you best. 1.
Method 1 : The tooth is extracted in the same session as the implant and the implant is immediately placed in the root of the tooth, this is the most comfortable and practical method for both the patient and the doctor. There is no stitching, no incision, no surgical intervention is required. It is almost painless, the patient may return to their social life without even using painkillers, and if the extracted tooth is in an aesthetic area, a temporary tooth is immediately placed on it.
Method 2 : The closed technique method we call Flapness is again no incision, no flap and naturally no stitching. The area where the implant will be made is opened with a tool called punch, only a groove large enough to accommodate the implant is opened and the implant is placed from that area. In this way, we avoid complications that may occur during surgery such as stitching, bleeding and pain.
Method 3: Mini Implant application is a method that we apply especially for the back teeth. There are some anatomical areas in the upper or lower jaw. The sinus area in the upper jaw, the mandibular canal in the lower jaw and the area where the lingual nerve passes. When the tooth is extracted in these areas, the bone starts to melt and the bone height decreases and it is necessary to add bone with advanced surgical methods. In order not to apply this advanced surgical method, we can use mini implants.
Method 4: Classical surgical method, in this method, a suitable incision is made in the patient's mouth in the area where the implant will be placed, the bone is clearly seen and the implant is placed there and stitched. The stitches are removed after 1 week in this method, if the bone density is low while placing the implant, a bone addition operation called bone graft is also applied together with the implant.
