The application used to fix removable dentures is called implant prosthesis. Prosthetic teeth are created by placing artificial teeth on screw-shaped tooth roots placed in the jaw bone. Implant prosthetics The differences between this and other prosthesis applications are quite high.
While other prosthetic applications require support from neighboring teeth and gums, implant prosthetics do not require such an application. Other prosthetic dental applications can cause damage to neighboring teeth.
There may be other problems in other prosthetic applications such as dentures, bridge dentures, partial or full dentures. Implant teeth are much more useful than dentures. Since food residues can sometimes accumulate under the removable dentures, it is much more difficult to maintain their cleaning and hygiene.
We can easily clean our implant teeth by brushing them in the most correct way, just like our natural teeth. Implant prosthesis can also be made for patients who have lost all their teeth for any reason.
Instead of making individual implant teeth, the patient's toothlessness problem is permanently solved with bridge prostheses, which we call bridge implants, collectively. If the patient has sufficient bone structure, they can have permanent implant prosthetic teeth without having to remove any prosthetics.
What is implant prosthesis? | Prof. Dr. Ömer Kutay
Dental implants are performed by a specialist doctor under local anesthesia with a simple surgical operation. After the implant is placed in the socket, it is placed in this socket. A certain amount of time is required for the implant placed in the jawbone to integrate with the bone. If deemed necessary during this time period, a temporary prosthesis can be applied to the patient.
The patient can continue to eat normally without putting too much strain on the implant. During the healing process, the doctor who applied the implant calls the patient for check-ups at regular intervals and may request another X-ray if necessary. After the implant has sufficiently integrated with the jawbone, the prosthesis is placed on the implant.
After the necessary measurements are taken for the most suitable prosthesis for the treatment, the prosthesis is placed on the implant. The prosthesis can sometimes be a single crown, sometimes a bridge or a full denture.
In short, implant prostheses, which are considered one of the healthiest and most successful ways to replace a lost tooth, have many advantages compared to traditional prosthesis applications.
